1. What this website is
This website provides information about natural slate roofing products, technical specifications and related services, and allows you to request samples, quotes, technical documents and contractor referrals. It is an information and inquiry site. It is not an online store, and no order is placed through it.

2. Product information and natural stone variation
Slate is a natural material. Color, tone, texture, thickness and markings vary between quarries, between production runs, and between individual pieces from the same run. This variation is a characteristic of the material, not a defect.
Photographs, color names, samples and swatches shown on this website or supplied to you are representative only. They are not a guarantee that delivered material will match them exactly. We recommend reviewing a current sample and, for larger projects, a blended sample set before specifying or ordering.

3. Technical specifications and testing
Technical data, test results, ratings, weights and installation guidance published on this site are provided in good faith and are believed accurate at the time of publication. They may be updated without notice.
Ratings and certifications apply to specific products, thicknesses and assemblies as tested, and may not apply to every product we supply or to every installation. Performance in a finished roof depends on design, structure, underlayment, fasteners, workmanship and maintenance, none of which we control.

You are responsible for confirming that a product suits your project and complies with applicable building codes. Where local code, fire zone or wildland-urban interface requirements apply, confirm compliance with your architect, engineer or building official.

4. Quotes, samples and orders
A quote is an invitation to do business, not a binding offer, and is valid only for the period stated on it. Prices, lead times and availability change and are confirmed only on a written order acknowledgement from us.
Orders are governed by the terms on our order acknowledgement and invoice. Where those terms conflict with these, the order terms apply to that order.

5. Warranties
Any product warranty is set out in the separate written warranty document for that product and is subject to its own terms, conditions and exclusions. Nothing on this website extends, varies or replaces a warranty, and material service life is not a warranty.

6. Contractor referrals
Where we refer you to a roofing contractor or installer, we do so as a convenience. Contractors are independent businesses. We do not employ, supervise, endorse or guarantee them or their work, and any contract you enter into is between you and them.
7. Intellectual property
The content of this website, including text, photographs, drawings, technical documents, logos and the California Slate Company name, is owned by us or our licensors and protected by law. You may view, download and print material for the purpose of specifying, purchasing or installing our products. You may not republish, sell or use it commercially without our written permission.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to use this site unlawfully, to submit false information, to attempt to gain unauthorized access to it, to interfere with its operation, or to collect data from it by automated means without our permission.
